There is something appealing about a line of old railroad tracks winding through the bush. John’s newest photos of the E&N Railway running between Esquimalt and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island capture the unique synergy that remains between structure and nature here.
In “E&N Railway,” your eye is drawn along a set of old tracks that seem to vanish into the autumn colours.
“Trestle on the Island” captures a sun-washed wooden rail trestle slicing through the trees.
And “Big Leaf Maple” catches a perfect maple leaf in a spotlight of sun. The leaf is fading but still intact, like the tracks that frame it.
